Summery
The elevator pit in this apartment condominium started to have water problems before the building was even completed. The developer installed a large sump adjacent to the elevator pit hoping that this would collect enough ground water to eliminate the problem. Even with the sump pumps running constantly the pit kept flooding.
Problem
Liftech Concrete Leveling Inc was contracted to underseal the floor of the elevator pit using HMI's 201 Polyurethane foam. We injected 305 pounds of 201 Polyurethane through 5/8" holes drilled around the perimeter of the elevator pit to displace the water under the floor and seal the gap between the floor slab and elevator pit walls.
Solution
Using polyurethane foam we were able to seal the elevator pit and eliminate the flooding problem.
